Dr Jonathan King has provided medical support for many sporting groups over the years, from amateur to professional.
Past sporting organisations with whom he has been involved include the Australian Paralympic athletics team at the 1998 World Championships (Birmingham), and Gordon Rugby Union (1st Premiership 1995). At the Sydney Olympic and Paralympic games in 2000 Dr King provided medical care for athletes on the fields of play (cycling, the Marathon and sailing) and at the village.
He has been involved in diverse sporting groups such as with Australian University Sports Summer Universiade in Daegu, Korea (2003), Australian U23 rowing teams in the World Championships (Trakai, Lithuania 2012), and Triathlon Australia age group teams from 2001 – 2009.

Dr Jonathan King has been appointed as Medical Delegate to elite international triathlon races held in Sydney 2010-2012, Yokohama 2011, Auckland 2013-2014 and Gold Coast 2014-2015 and 2018. He was also the Medical Delegate and adviser for the Adelaide World Duathlon Championships .

Central Coast Mariners Football Team
Since the inception of the A League competition in 2005, Dr Jonathan King has been the club doctor for the Central Coast Mariners who have been crowned premiers in 2007-8 and 2011-12, and championship winners in 2012-2013. Dr King has travelled with the team to the AFC Champions league in China and Japan.

The Australian Olympic Committee appointed Dr Jonathan King as Medical Officer for the 2015 Australian Pacific Games Team. This is the first time Australia participated in the Pacific Games in Port Moresby from 2-18 July 2015.
